More solar stuff

Here is a chart from a recent good day of production to show how much we are losing to the trees.

Like I said, as soon as the sun gets above about 35 degrees the trees will no longer shade the array. But right now the sun doesn’t get high enough and the trees shade the array in the middle of the day when we should get peak production. The red line is my rough estimate of what our production would be if the trees were removed.

I use about 7.5kWh driving the car around each weekday. Even with the shading problem, we manage to get 10 kWh on a sunny winter day, which is more than the car uses. Unfortunately right now only about 1 day in 4 is a reasonably good sunny day.
